![]() ![]() It’s kind of funny how people like Tessie and Sayaka notice the difference in her personality from time to time but don’t really think to question it. Also, Taki Mitsuha tends to talk with a Kansai dialect which draws suspicion. It also was a nice depiction of how guys would act if trapped in a girl’s body by doing things such as wearing the wrong skit, forgetting to wear a bra, or even tying their hair incorrectly. It shows him forgetting some of her classmate’s names along with excelling at sports, namely basketball. While there are some scenes in here that are familiar with those who read/watched the original source material, this series serves to fill in some of the blanks left by that source material.įor instance, it takes us through Taki as Mitsuha and some of the interactions he had with some of Mitsuha’s classmates. ![]() The story focuses on Mitsuha short after she started switching bodies with Taki. There’s just something about the original tale that lends itself to the creepy or macabre treatment. Of the many different versions of Lewis Carroll’s classic that I have experienced, my favorite ones were typically those considered “dark” or “twisted” – and to be honest, those are the types I’m mostly interested in. Suffice to say I was pretty shocked by this realization after all, there are quite a few high-profile titles out there.Ĭhristina Henry’s Alice therefore had the distinction of being my first “Alice retelling novel”, and I’m actually quite happy about that. featuring retellings or re-imaginings of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland – but never a novel. The Trojan wars provide the backdrop, two of the characters spend the majority of the book thinking of nothing but revenge and let’s be honest, Greek Tragedies are not famed for their light and breezy nature. Also, from the outset I will say that the characters here are not really having a great deal of fun for the most part. For the record I will say that I’m not an expert on Greek myth and that could be a reason why these stories hold so much appeal to me because a lot of the content is new. I’m really enjoying these stories and think Jennifer Saint does a great job of bringing the characters to life.
